What does RC-Aid offer?

RC-Aid is the only software system for identifying, reviewing, and storing antibody identifications. Our application enables blood centers and transfusion services to easily identify red blood cell antibodies for testing. RC-Aid is safer, more secure, and more efficient than traditional computer programs and can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection.

For hospital transfusion services and rapid response laboratories: RC-Aid is a red blood cell antibody identification tool with powerful color coded analysis based on results and an ePanel for paperless storage and electronic distribution.

For reference laboratories: RC-Aid is a tool for frozen media management with the ultimate in flexible query capabilities by any mix of antigens and ABO compatibility.

Inventory, ePanel Testing, and Reagent QC

Inventory

We know that managing inventory of supplier lots is critical for your site. With RC-Aid, simply use our import feature to move lots into your inventory where you have full control, including the use of outdated cells.

All manufacturers are available and included with your subscription
Any extended antigens provided by the supplier are also available
Lots are entered as they are being shipped and are usually available when you receive your reagents, or shortly thereafter

ePanel Testing

Once your inventory is loaded, RC-Aid provides powerful search capability by any combination of parameters, allowing for easy selection of cells specific for your testing needs. After you have selected your cells, you can easily create an ePanel where you enter your test results and view the automatically generated rule-in and rule-out color-coded analysis, along with heterozygous and homozygous counts.

The ePanel feature allows for

unlimited comments by any viewer in real time
adding additional cells to complete rule-outs
passing off to the next tech, even at another site in the same healthcare system
up to eight phases of test results and optional manual cross-outs
template creation (i.e., pre-selected test cells for common antibodies)

Once the technician completes an ePanel, authorized reviewers can do multiple electronic reviews from any PC. The ePanel with cross-outs and comments can then be printed or saved electronically.

Reagent QC

RC-Aid also has a reagent QC module! Define your reagents and testing parameters, enter your reagent lots as they arrive, document QC by selecting in-dated lots in use from a list, and enter your reaction results and comments. Testing outside of defined QC ranges flag and require a comment. QC runs are available for review and archiving.
